We found the greatest sight ever!!

My friend Jennie and I were nosing around Good Reads and found a website call Book Mooch. This is our newest "game"! It is a website that you can exchange books on. This is how it works: You list in your inventory all of the books that you are willing to trade. You list in your wishlist all of the books that you would like to receive. From here it is all based on a point system; every book you list you earn a tenth of a point, every book you send out to someone you earn a full point. In exchange when you find a book a you would like to "mooch" it costs you a point. The only money that exchanges hands is when you have to pay for shipping it to them. If you are a reader this is a great way to save money on books; granted you could always go to the library for totally free!!!

We have only been doing it two days and already we are already sending out 7 books!!! See the link on right to check it out!

Jaime as a Princess!!! Take the Test Too and Let Me Know Who You Are!

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
Pure and trusting. You are a gentle soul who can get along with just about anyone. Everyone you meet instantly falls in love with you. How can they resist? You have a pure, lovable nature that's irresistable. Just don't trust everyone who comes across your path.

Curt would be a Pocahantas Princess!!!

Free-spirited and wise. You have a strong passionate spirit that touches and changes all who know you. The wisdom and common sense that you have is really what guides you through life. Even so, you also have a very playful side that loves adventure and excitement.

And you do silly things to make your wife happy! Love you!

Rummage Sale Success!!!

Today my friend Jennie, her mother, and myself set up a rummage sale in front of the house! It was a great success....$450 all together between the three of us! I wish I had lots of "treasures" like this to sell everyday.

A few of the highlights...

1. Police stopping by looking for a man
2. Three school buses stopping to make purchases
3. A little too much skin shown in the "back" area
4. A few interesting characters

What else Jennie?

Confession...

I have become a blogaholic. I am addicted to playing on my blog, adding songs, changing colors around and the worst of all....looking at random people's blogs and actually reading them like I know them! I feel a little "weird" doing it but I love to get ideas and look at people's happy memories. The next to do on my blog is to find a fantastic background; that is what I am using as my excuse for looking at other people's blogs!

For Talmage, Avery, and Peyton too!

Here are a couple of pictures of your onion plant growing in front of your house. We have had a lot of rain lately so between Mother Nature and Roger; it is being well taken care of! I hope you had a great birthday and are having lots of fun with your family in Utah.

Favorite Games

Curt and I have been playing a lot more games lately; of course it's more me begging him to play with me and then we have a good time. For some reason he doesn't really enjoy playing board games too much. I always hear the story of him tossing a board game when he was losing as a child. (I've heard this both from his mother and his brother so it must be true!)

These are our favorites as of late...

Blockus- thanks Maria for the recommendation. My cousins really enjoyed this one too on the 4th of July. It is recommended by the Mensa group so since Curt and I play it and understand how to play it; that must mean we are really smart, right?

Sequence- this is Curt's favorite. My little sister Shaveonte got this for me one Christmas and Curt and I played it in Florida while we were visiting with his brother. We've since taught my family how to play it as well.

Rummikub-this is my favorite as you do a lot of moving the tiles around and swapping pieces. My family used to play this a lot but it was forgotten and recently pulled out again.

Happy Birthday Makenzie!!

Today we celebrated my niece Makenzie's 4th birthday!
Makenzie has lots of energy and spunk! She loves to play with babies and be like her big sister.
The family went out to dinner and then came back to my parent's house for cake and ice cream!
My friend Jennie made the mermaid birthday cake for us. It was delicious!
Below is a video of us singing happy birthday to Makenzie; she didn't like all of the attention.

Listen to the greatest laugh out there!

New Hair Color!!!

My cousin Nicole came over and lowlighted my hair for me tonight.
Nicole has been a hairdresser for about 2 years now.
Whenever anyone in the family needs "hair help" she comes over to our houses and we hang out for a few hours,
get a great deal on services, and come out looking great!
Thank you Nicole!

Our New Computer Has Arrived!!!

Curt and I have been without a computer for two weeks now! Ours finally died after about 6 months of sparks shooting off of the power cord and the computer screen turning blue. We would have to angle the laptop screen at about a 60 degree angle to get a "clear" image; anything more than that and it was blue! We've been dealing with that issue for about 2-3 months as we tried to pay off other bills before buying a computer! Our new laptop is a Dell Studio and will be plum!! I guess you know who picked the color and who was sweet enough to let me do that!!!

Greek Fest

On Saturday Curt and I went to Greek Fest with my family. Curt and I can both be picky so all we had were ears of corn dripping with butter but my family loved the gyros, baklava, and honey puffs. Makenzie, my youngest niece, went wild for the spinny rides; Karley is like me and just had to watch as we have both gotten sick from these kinds of rides before. Of course, then we spent way too much money by the games trying to win a 10 cent goldfish!

Happy 3rd Anniversary Shaveonte!

Shaveonte is my little sister from the Big Brother/Big Sister program of Milwaukee. Closer to the end of the month we will have been sisters for 3 years! Our favorite thing to do together would be movies; we both love them and go together all of the time. We also spend a lot of time with my family for get-togethers, planting a garden every spring together, we've tried cooking a time or two, and we even took a loom weaving class together. On Wednesday we went bowling at the Serb Hall. We took my nieces Karley and Makenzie as long as well.
Shaveonte had the highest score of 120, Karley a 115, me a 103, and Makenzie a 70.
(Not bad! But not good either considering we had bumpers up!)
Shaveonte and Karley are like sisters themselves; they really enjoy and care about each other. Today when I picked up Karley she had made two friendship bracelets and a 4th of July card for Shaveonte. I thought it was very kind. And in the past Shaveonte has used her own allowance to buy Karley birthday presents. I think we are all lucky to have formed a bond together and I think we've all learned about being a better person too.

Here are some pictures of us in "action" and "cheesing" for the camera.

4th of July Celebration!

The 4th of a July was a family filled day. We have our traditions that we've done for about 20 years now! We start the day with the Wauwatosa Parade. We always sit in the same spot and enjoy the show. Then we go over to my parents house for a BBQ. During the afternoon, the kids go over to the park for pony and camel rides as well as for field games. Then we all get together for the fireworks in the evening. We always sat in the same place but this year they switched the layout so my cousins and I were busy texting to make sure we all ended up together.
The 1st picture is my stylish cousin Justin who just graduated high school!
The 2nd photo is my sister Jodi with my cousin Ryan; the tattoo king.
The 3rd photo is Curt and I with my cousin Nicole.
The last photo was my favorite part of the parade!

Hancock

Curt and I were out in the Falls Thursday night for errands and decided to drive by the movie theatre to see a movie. We both wanted to see a movie and luckily a show was starting in 5 minutes. Curt and I are not very spontaneous like that; we always have a plan, so it was fun to just wing it and go to the movie instead of rushing home. (It reminded me of when we first started dating and just did things to spend more time together and not all of the "have to"s) We saw Hancock and loved it. I had read earlier it wasn't getting the best reviews but I really enjoyed this movie. I like Will Smith and I liked the fact that I was surprised by plot elements and there wasn't a lot given away in movie previews on TV. You know how they use all of the good parts for their preview and you don't see much more at the real show? We recommend it!

Date Night!

Tonight Curt and I went out for a little date night. We usually try to go out twice a month or so; just us, on purpose, for a date. Corny hey? We went to Edwardo's Pizza near the zoo. I love deep-dish pizza and Curt has never been here, so we gave it a try. We split a pizza; me with spinach and him with meat-lovers) I loved it because it has a chunkier tomato sauce and Curt gave it an "I'd eat here again" which doesn't sound like much but Curt can be picky about eating out. We signed up for the birthday club which I believe allows you free dinner for four. That's worth the annoying emails they'll send! Any one else up for a pizza date next time?

New Eyebrows!

So I have been letting my eyebrows grow out for the past 2-3 months because the last stylist made them look like a , turned horitonally and things were starting to get scary! Today I finally went and had them waxed. I took my two nieces along for this field trip! (They loved seeing Auntie Jaime Lynn tortured but please don't try it at home girls!) Here are my before and afters. Why am I posting this? Because a friend, Maria, and I were talking about it and she didn't believe I would, so I did. I must say I like them much better and can look people in the eyes again. How strange is that; because my eyebrows were "bushy" I felt embarassed enough not to look directly at people? Sometimes it's the little things that control us too much.
