Swim Class Started Tonight and It Was Awesome!
Tonight Curt, Josie, and I started an infant swim class together. We had a great time and I know we will really enjoy it. The class will work on being comfortable in the water, babies going on their tummies and backs, as well as submerging. Josie did great; there was a ramp to get into the water that we were all sitting on during role call. While waiting she sat for a bit and then started crawling around and started right down the ramp as far as she could go before I would grab her back; she loved going by the other babies and sat watching them until it was time to start. This is a short, short, short video of her once I got all the way into the water with her.

January Project on my Christmas Present
Curt and Josie picked out a sewing machine for me for Christmas. I put it to use for the first time tonight. After two years of asking he must of got the hint that I wanted one!
So my New Year's resolution started tonight; remember it was a project a month? My mom came over at eight, Josie's bedtime, and then we got started on making a seatcover for the rocking chair cushions. Here is one "before" and a few "after" shots. I love, love, love this fabric and think it works perfectly in a room with a pink tree painted on the wall!
Reached a Goal This Week
I haven't blogged about it or actually talked much about it even in person but it was a goal I was silently focused on; I accomplished this goal that I've been working towards for the past six months. I am down 51.8 pounds and if you count the "baby" weight then since Josie was born 69.8 pounds all together! I'm proud of it and will keep going for ten pound increments. It started as a bet between my brother and I , the first one down 50 would have to treat the other. In my case a pair of Coach tennis shoes and in his case, money towards Nascar tickets. Well, he "threw in his hat" around Thanksgiving but I kept going so there will be no reward from him but I do believe I will be treating myself to those Coach tennis shoes! Way to go me without that sounding too self-involved!

How We Are Spending Our Sunday
This is how we are spending our Sunday. We are on a LOST marathon trying to get all five seasons watched by the time the final season begins on Febuary 10th. We are in Season 1 on disc 3. We are also going to enjoy this new to us recipe called "Lasagna Casserole". Looks yummy, hopefully it will be when it's done cooling!

A Super Saturday
Our little family of three had a great Saturday today! Josie and I relaxed at home this morning waiting for Curt to come home from work and then the three of us went out to Johnson Creek Outlet mall. Got some awesome, awesome deals on some cute, cute things for both Josie and I. Then we went to Stone Fire Pizza to celebrate my niece's birthday; what a fun place. We played lots of games, Josie helped push buttons to win prizes too! Josie went on her first "roller coaster" ride; she's ready for the Dumbo ride at Disney World now! Then Curt and I took on Karley in the bumper cars...my shot is me getting rammed in the back by that little girl.

A Sick Day Project
I've been home the past two days with some type of flu or virus going around. After sitting around yesterday all day sweating and aching; (I couldn't even nap I was so uncomfortable) I decided that today I would at least be productive and sweaty. So here is another one for my New Year's resolution; I bought these items this past fall to copy my friend Rachel who made one and posted it on her blog. This is going to go into the upstairs room as we work on turning it into a playroom. I really love the simplicity of the pictures and the colors. I think Josie will too!
Because I'm a crafter at heart but really need step by step directions. I had to track down the directions for this project. So if you are interested; it came from Rachel, who got the idea from Julie, who got it from this blog www.tinydecorblog.com Now everyone I went through has been given their props!

9 months!
Josie is 9 months old already. It has gone so fast! Someone asked me which went quicker the pregnancy or these 9 months...these 9 months for sure! Josie has had a great month. She is eating like a champ and has started eating Stage 3 foods and little morsels from the table. She has begun pulling herself up, walking along the couch, walking behind baby push toys, and even took that one step we wrote about. She has become a little more stranger shy in the past few weeks but easily goes back and forth between those she knows. At her doctor's appointment she weighed in at 18.1 pounds which was in the 37% range and at 29.25 inches which was in the 95% range! She is the height of an average one year old! Her percentile rank for her weight dropped from the 50%; the doctor wasn't concerned about the drop because of the growth in her height. He attributed it to her having the major colds, respiratory infection, and ear infection this past month which messed with her eating habits some. She loves to mimmick sounds and noises and follow you around the house like one of our puppy dogs. She's still a happy little girl and we love her so much!

What's So Funny Josie?
This is Josie's "belly laugh". For some reason this past weekend balls, doors, and a dog equalled a hysterical time. Her "normal" laugh is more of a heckle, hee, hee, hee right now.

She took her 1st step tonight!!!
She was holding onto a baby walker, saw those treats, let go, and took one step before ending up on her bum! It was just one and she went tumbling down pretty quickly but she was brave enough or hungry enough (she was going after a container of baby treats) to let go.
A fluke? Maybe. But we still cheered just the same!
How long until the next one?? We'll let you know.

New Year's Resolution
It's that time of year to make New Year's Resolutions; so here's mine: I wanted to pick a hobby and do it...for me I think that's something crafty. So my goal is a craft/project a month. I think I have January's picked out. My dad gave me my grandmother's wooden rocking chair; there is a seat on it but the color is a boring dark green so I would like to recover it.
My resolution motivated me to finish my second quilt as well. I started this quilt in August right before school started; it's been sitting in the closet since mid-September. Today I finished it for Josie and I picked up fabric to make another quilt as a comforter for our bedroom.

Smarty Pants!
This is one of Josie's new toys from Christmas (thanks Papa and Yoohoo). She has already played with it lots in the past week. Yesterday as I was in the kitchen trying to finish dinner, Josie kept crawling in after me so my mom got out this toy out with the door closed and layed down on her side to make a barrier so Josie would have to stay in the living room. Well, smarty pants just crawled away from my mom, pushed open the door, and headed off back to the kitchen! We laughed and cheered for her and so did she. She loves to clap for herself when she's done something she's proud of.
New Year's Eve Fun
For New Years my parents, sister, and cousin Ryan came over. Curt braved the cold and grilled steaks and chicken; yeah only Curt would be goofy enough to do it. We also had fun on the Wii bowling, hulahooping on the WiiFit, and finding our Wii ages. Here's a few of us having fun; even Josie got into the hulahooping fun...she was smiling and making noise the whole time!
