Josie's Birthday Party

Saturday we had Josie's 1st birthday party! One word to describe it is blessed...we are blessed with so many friends and family members that love Josie just as much as we do. And we have several friends and family members who have had babies in the past year and a half as well! Needless to say, Saturday was a blast. Josie was spoiled with love, attention, and of course with new toys and adorable summer outfits!

Josie is 1!!

We just returned from Josie's one year checkup and is doing great! She didn't grow as much as they would have predicted but with a week of diaherrea and a week of a viral infection/high fever and 6 new teeth in the past 8 weeks she wasn't the best at always eating and drinking whole bottles so it's to be expected. She was 19.1 pds which was under the 25% for weight and 29.75 inches which was 75% for height. So tall and lean just like Papa...you see she's got a basketball hoop to practice with! Here is an adorable photo from her one year photos. We met with a friend in the park for some pics...can't wait to see and post the rest!

Josie has been walking for two months now.

She is saying mama, dada, daddy, doggy, dat (for that), ow, hiya, yea, uhoh

(The doctor said this is more typical of a 15 to 18 month old).

She loves the park; swinging, sliding, and playing in the sand.

She likes to go for walks and doesn't mind being in the stroller as long as it's moving.

As long as she feels like eating, she is a champion eater and will try and usually like anything.

Her favorites are peas, black olives, ham, strawberries, bananas, and goldfish.

She definetely has an opinion and will voice it with a sqwak or swatting your hands away.

Unfortunately, she has learned how to throw a "tantrum". OY :)

She loves things with buttons and enjoys sound and music.

She is starting to get the hang of using a fork and getting food onto the prongs.

She is independent and likes to do things on her own; like feeding, holding or carrying things.

She turns the light switches on and off when we walk by the switch.

In lieu of a cake (we wanted to save that fun for Josie's party so everyone could witness it) we went to Baskin Robbins for a free birthday scoop for Josie; we got her the birthday cake flavor with sprinkles flavor but she definetly prefered the chocolate!

BirthDay Fun!

Today was Josie's first birthday! We had family time all day and it was awesome; just the three of us besides her one year photo shoot. When she woke up and after each nap we gave her another gift to open. This birthday was all FisherPrice animals and books and puzzle to match!

Pretty Easter Girl

We spent the day with Papa and Grammy Haar's...we went to church, had a photo shoot with the flowers there (hopefully there's some nice pics), had a delicious brunch, spent the afternoon outside going on walks, having naps in the stroller, digging in the dirt, blowing bubbles, pushing the stroller, following the dogs, had leftovers for dinner and then went home for a bath to wash off the sunscreen and dirt! Happy Easter everyone...hope your day was as great.

Easter Basket Fun

This morning all three of us got a visit from the Easter Bunny; unfortunately Curt was the photographer once we got digging so we didn't get any pics of him searching through his goodies. We were all spoiled by the bunny. Josie got some new toddler eats and sand toys for the summer and her sand table (shhh...don't tell her she's getting one for her birthday from her Grandpa & Grandma Mutz).
