I'm Enrolled... and my Mother is too!
On the side of the blog Curt and I both put down short lists of things we would like to learn how to do; it's not the day to day list of laundry, vacuum, trim the hedges, but things we would like to learn how to do. Well, I've signed up for a class to help me learn how to make a quilt. The class is at the Patched Work store in Elm Grove; it is a beginners class with only 4 sessions that are every other week. You make a small wall hanging of 9 squares and in each square you practice a different skill/pattern and then learn how to put it all together. Well I have little skill on the sewing machine; as in I don't even know how to thread it. I was worried about being a hindrance to the instructor and the other class members so my mother agreed to take the class with me to learn a few new things and help me out. My mother has made quilts for years, for her bed, our beds, and as wall hangings so I am thankful that she is willing to sit through a beginners class with me. Thank you mom! (Oh and the classes start towards the end of August and stop in the beginning of October so look back for a quilt then!)

Yea for you to not only make the list, but step out and do it! I love that shop! They have such cute fabrics, great samples and really nice people! Enjoy your class and I can't wait to see the finished project. Remember that perfection isn't necessary. My quilting teacher used to say, if you can't see it when galloping by on a horse, it's probably okay!
