Josie Coloring

For the past few weeks Josie has been really into taking pencils and pens and "coloring" with them on papers. I decided to buy her jumb crayons and paper to color for Easter...we gave it to her a bit early as you can tell. She sat and "colored" for about 15 minutes...and they only went in her mouth three times. Ha Ha!!!

Easter Decorations

This year I picked up a few Easter decorations for the house.... a few that I knew Josie would love!

Our First Spring Walk

Tonight we went on an hour walk and stopped by the park for Josie. The park was packed and Josie couldn't get enough of watching the other kids.

Two New Photos of the Three of Us That I Love!

Cute Video from Swim Class

This past week we ended up getting to swim class early so we hung out on the ramp waiting for our turn to go into the water. In the big pool was the water aerobics class. We got a short video of Josie enjoying the water and the music...pay attention around 40 seconds to see absolute cuteness! That little butt cracks me up! I think she's telling the ladies to move faster!

Just Like Her Daddy....Loves Fish!!!

Our favorite part at Discovery World was the aquariums...definetly worth another visit. Josie loved the fish and we spent a good half hour with her looking at the fish. Curt loved it too!

Discovery World

This past Saturday Curt had a rare Saturday off so we headed to Discovery World with Jodi.

Here are a few shots of us playing with some of the exhibits...of course she nothing was age appropriat but she loves to touch buttons so she was in heaven!

11 Things About Josie at 11 Months!

Josie turned 11 months over the weekend. My heart is in shock and I am somewhat sick to the stomach when I think about her birthday we are starting to plan for in a month. I just can't believe it. I always thought it was such a cliche saying and I actually still do...I can't believe how fast it has gone and how much I want to freeze time. Of course I can't wait to see what she becomes but my baby is not so much a baby anymore and that's sad.

1. She is an independent walker! She took her first steps the day before her 10 month birthday but now she is "distance" walking and pivoting and carrying things with her. She has even tried to run a few times but she loses her balance quickly then.
2. She has learned how to do steps. We are not around them often but the few times we have been this month, she's gone for it with no fear.

3. She says mama, dada (I'm pretty sure it's meant for him), and doggy--it sounds like dahjee. She has said it looking at the dogs, at the TV (even though it was a cat) and tonight reading a book (even though it was a rabbit). So we'll have to work on that generalization of animals :)

4. She understands the word no (doesn't mean she listens to it all the time), puts her arms above her head if I say up, is starting to go towards the door when I say outside, knows what bye-bye means, how to open and close doors, turn light switches on and off. So much she is beginning to understand.

5. She still loves to make noise! She is always babbling or yapping like on the swim video. And she loves to make silly noise with her mouth and lips.

6. She has always enjoyed music but has really started dancing and swaying more to music this past month.

7. She has 5 teeth in her mouth! And I think is working on one now..she is drooling like mad and has a low fever today.

8. She definetly has an opinion and voices it. She will pull things away if you try to take it away, she will push your hand or body away if she wants her personal space, she will sqwauk when you take away something from her. She will hold her ground for sure.

9. She is done with baby food (except the cereal; she likes that stuff!) She started refusing all food about two weeks ago so we have been feeding her from the table and she has tried and liked most everything we have given her so far including pickles, limes, and olives :)

10. Her hair is long enough to start wearing ponies...I will have to pick up bands to start some piggie tails!
11. Her favorite thing this month has been standing at the fridge and pulling things out of it!

We love you Josie and are so proud of you!

Curt's Weekend

Curt went up north to Escanaba last weekend with his dad and uncle.
They had their best weekend fishing since I've known Curt so he was excited about it.
He is going back up with his parents this coming weekend but Josie and I are staying home.
It's a long drive; one that I don't want to make until it's warmer out and we can explore outside the house. They have a huge wooden playground there that looks like a castle that I know she will love to explore and climb on.

Yummy Pedialite Popsicles

Josie loves her popsicles and thank goodness for pedialite popsicles to keep her filled with nutrients during this past week. We went in to the doctor today and she said it was most likely viral and Josie is dealing with post diahrrea malabsorption in her digestive tract which could take up to two weeks to straighten itself out. Sounds big and bad but not really, she's been as pleasant as always, is willing to eat, is well hydrated, and not running a fever. So let's hope it continues this way.
