Tupperware Party on Monday at 7:00 pm

Tomorrow night, Monday, August 25 at 7 pm we will be having a tupperware party at my house! When I say we, I don't mean Curt and myself, but Curt's mom Dianne and myself! We are co-hosting a party. If you are able to stop by please do...even if it's just for the treats, red velvet cupcakes and a chocolate fondue pot! Or you could come and purchase somewhat expensive but wonderful quality plasticware!

I think I've heard back from most everyone who reads this, but if I didn't here is your reminder or your invite if I didn't get one out to you in the mail!

Here is a sampling of some of the lovely products you could purchase...
(And Maria, I forgot the numbers you wanted!)

Lucky Curty and Jodi!

On Friday night, Curt, my mother, my sister Jodi, and myself headed down to Potawotomi! My mom and I love the casinos and Jodi and Curt tolerate them. None of us are big "rollers" but we like to try our luck on the slot machines... I know, I know, what a waste of money but the plinking noises, and the coins, and bonus sounds just get my adrenaline going! Well Jodi and Curt were winners; Curt one $180 and Jodi $100! My mom and I were the losers but we had fun trying new machines. My favorite casino is up north in Escanaba because it has penny machines!

Cutie Pie Makenzie

My four year old neice just loves Bogey. When he was first born she would carry him around everywhere. Now that he is older she still tries to carry him around but it is so much harder because he is almost as long as her. Makenzie does not like taking her picture but I was able to con her into smiling because she had the dog!

Oh No... Mice!

No not really....just our puppy Bogey getting his teeth on anything he can; in this case a bag of instant oatmeal that he dug out of my workbag. This is the mess that I found today after I was done working on the computer in the other room. He is more puppy than Mulligan ever was. Constantly finding anything to chew on. But he is so cute that the frustration doesn't last too long...

Curt's Birthday Celebrations

On Sunday, my family had a little get together for Curt. We had cake and ice cream and a delicious meal of Taco Bell; one of Curt's favorites! We also played croquet. Curt was spoiled with lots of goodies; a new Wisconsin hat, new Brewers t-shirt, Columbia fleece, Kit Kats and Mountain Dew, a Walleye Insider Magazine subscription, jeans, t-shirt, popeye t-shirt, and a new DVD player. Currently we watch movies on a portable one so this will feel like we are in the big time now! Here are a few photos of the day courtesy of my niece Karley!

Today, Curt's official birthday, we went out to dinner to Boulder Junction for one of Curt's favorite meals steak and potatoes! The decor is all stuffed animals; not the cute ones from Build A Bear but the ones that have been hunted and put on display!

On Thursday night, we are going to Curt's parents for a home-cooked meal! Can't wait!

Goodbye Purple Computer

A few weeks ago I blogged about getting a new Dell laptop...well we've only had problems since then. It worked well for a good week and then the eject button didn't work and then the touch keys on top didn't work and then the computer screeched at me and wouldn't turn on; a different issue on 3 different days. So they sent me a new one after about 3 hours on the phone. I got the new one and problems... the text size is small even on the largest setting, it doesn't use the full screen like the 1st one did, and it beeps when you try to watch a dvd or a video on the internet. So today I called again and they are paying to have it shipped back and I am being reimbursed. I was only on the phone maybe 5 mintues and they never asked what was wrong, if I wanted to exchange, etc. I think that they flagged my account and said refund her, don't deal with her after the last 3 hour bout!

A Long Relaxing Weekend

Curt and I went up to Escanaba, in Upper Michigan, for a long relaxing weekend. We left Thursday night and came back Monday afternoon. It was just the two of us at his parents vacation home up north. We did a lot of nothing; we tried to go fishing but it was really wavy so we ended up out there only once. On the other days we took at least one nap a day, watched the olympics, went for walks, went to the craft stores, and toured a lighthouse in the Escanaba Harbor. Not a lot of excitement but it felt great to rest, relax, and do nothing!

Like Mother, Like Son

Today Curt was doing some chores, taking out the recycling and garbage, and he stepped down the steps wrong and heard something pop in his ankle. It then popped back in. It seems to be a pretty bad sprain. Check out the patient with his leg in the air and the swollen ankle. I say like mother, like son because just about 2 weeks ago Curt's mom slipped and fell and broke her ankle! Hopefully Curt's is nothing that bad!

I'm Enrolled... and my Mother is too!

On the side of the blog Curt and I both put down short lists of things we would like to learn how to do; it's not the day to day list of laundry, vacuum, trim the hedges, but things we would like to learn how to do. Well, I've signed up for a class to help me learn how to make a quilt. The class is at the Patched Work store in Elm Grove; it is a beginners class with only 4 sessions that are every other week. You make a small wall hanging of 9 squares and in each square you practice a different skill/pattern and then learn how to put it all together. Well I have little skill on the sewing machine; as in I don't even know how to thread it. I was worried about being a hindrance to the instructor and the other class members so my mother agreed to take the class with me to learn a few new things and help me out. My mother has made quilts for years, for her bed, our beds, and as wall hangings so I am thankful that she is willing to sit through a beginners class with me. Thank you mom! (Oh and the classes start towards the end of August and stop in the beginning of October so look back for a quilt then!)

Breaking Dawn!!! I hope she picks Jacob...

Breaking Dawn is out and I'm excited about.... trying to show restraint in borrowing the book though. My neighbor friend Rachel got the book for a bargain of $1.99 after some gift cards and discounts! So I'm hoping to borrow to save the cost; however, we leave Thursday for a 4 day weekend up north and this is the perfect up north book so I may just have to go out and splurge! I know Curt would appreciate it; it is just him and I for an alone weekend (so excited!) and he loves to fish. Me? I get a little bored so this will help tide me over. We also have a portable DVD/IPOD player that I plan on taking to keep myself more pacified. I love being out on the boat and spending time with Curt but just waiting for those little fishies to come is too much! Hopefully we'll have some great fishing shots to share!
