Sitting Pretty

Josie has begun sitting a bit on her own. If we sit her up she will stay up for about 2 minutes before tumbling backwards or to the side. Tonight she really got excited by her new toy that Curt picked out for her at Kohls 40% sale tonight. She loved the lights and the music.

**Side note** This is the gift Curt got me for my birthday; a digital recorder that uses just a memory card to save video on. What a great idea but we are working out the kinds of having a steady hand the coloring.**

A Fall Day

Skipping Out of Daycare

This week Josie has not been at the babysitters. Her youngest son came home from school on Monday at lunch with a high fever that wasn't breaking. (he ended up with a upper respiratory infection) This means Josie has been skipping out of daycare all week. Thankfully, my dad was available this to get Josie on Monday in the middle of the day and to watch her on Tues and Wed as well. Curt is off on Thursday to watch her and myself on Friday. Here's a picture of Josie when I went to pick her up on Monday afternoon; my youngest niece got out one of her favorite toys from the past...we're not ready to be on it alone but she had fun bouncing with our help.

Cedarburg Harvest Festival

This past weekend my mom, sister, Josie, and I headed out to Cedarburg to enjoy the weather and the fall festival in Cedarburg. It was so crowded this year, more than I remember in the past. Thank goodness for the stroller because we loaded it up with melons, squashes, apples, peppers, grapes, raspberries, and a few other yummy fruits and veggies from the farmer's market that was there. Here's a few pics of Josie's newest hat; another homemade gift from my mom. It's a little bit beret, a little bit rastaman hat, but still a lot cute!

Happy Birthday to Me!

We celebrated my birthday on three separate days but on my actual birthday it was just me, Curt, and Josie which was so nice. We went to the Cheescake Factory for dinner and of course dessert. Josie ate there too....even though it was just her cereal and sweet potatoes!

Packer Tailgate Party

Our church had a Packer's tailgate party on opening day (is that what it's called for football too or just baseball?) We've been waiting to dress Josie in her Packer outfit and she made quite the hit at the picnic.

Wheeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!

On Saturday Josie and I went to my niece Karley's soccer tournament to show our support. On the way back to the cars we stopped by the tot lot for a little swinging fun! She loved them; of course we had to use a blanket to stuff around her to give her support and of course I had to make sure she didn't put her mouth on the swing (too many germs to freak me out; granted fingers in the mouth after touching the swing is pretty much the same theory) but she didn't try that so we swang for 5 minutes. For a bit too we took off her hat and let the wind blow through her hair; she really loved that!

5 months old!

Josie is now 5 months old and figuring out how to do lots of things. She is excellent at rolling from back to front towards her left sholder (she's starting to roll towards the right one but not as much). She loves her tummy time now and doesn't attempt to roll her self over any more; it's probably been almost a month since I've seen her roll off her tummy. She has even started doing the inchworm but not really moving anywhere too much. She turns herself in a circle when on her tummy to get to the toys around her. She's been eating cereal like a champ since 4months and started veggies at 5 months; so far only squash and carrots (which she loves the carrots). She is a regular "big-mouth" smiler now. She still does her little grins and smirks but has tons of big mouth smiles for us. She's chuckled a few times but we've got to be working hard to get them out of her; the dogs have made her laugh just as much as us. The craziest things get her like shaking keys or some random other sound but she doesn't laugh the next time. She is talking up a storm all throughout the day and squeals to show her delight. She has been sleeping through the night for over a month now too! Josie is still a very content baby and only fusses when she needs something; random people tell me all the time she's teething because of her drooling and mouthing but that's been going on for most of the past month so I don't know about that; maybe the mouth is working up to it but right now there's nothing. Granted I don't check too often because I think fingers in the mouth is kind-of gross; mom friends laugh at me and tell me I will get used to that sensation but for now I'll keep my fingers and germs to myself!

Sneak Peek

Here is a sneak peek of what is to come... We were given a free photo session with an awesome photographer named Christina; check out her work at http://cjnphotography.com Anyways my mom is going to knit her some props for her photo shoots and in exchange I took my two nieces and Josie in for a group shot to get printed and framed for my parents. Each of the girls got individual shots as well.... here is one of Josie Rose. Hopefully I can post the rest in a week or so.
