Looking Good for the Wedding!

First Sleepover

This past weekend Josie had her first sleepover at Papa and Grandma Haar's house...actually this was her first sleepover without Curt or I anywhere. My nieces stay at my parents usually once a month and everytime ask if Josie can too and the answer is always a definite no. Well this past weekend, Curt had to go in to work on Sunday morning at 4am and I was still not feeling well from the infection so I said yes; they and I were shocked, actually my whole family was shocked I agreed! Josie did really well though...and only kept them up from 12:15 to 1:15 am! My routine is to go into Josie's room and say goodnight to her when I go to bed, I still went in there and it was so empty feeling and I began to cry...not crazy sobbing but tears flowing but then I stopped because it hurt my eyes and sinuses too much! And then I slept through the night and into the morning. When is her next one? I'm not sure... maybe in another 14 months!!

First Cousin Bath

Josie and Makenzie had fun in the bathtub together! Makenzie did a great job washing her hair too...she might have to come over a couple of times a week to do that for us!

My Turn

Last week it was Josie's turn to be sick and this week it's been mine.

It started with pinkeye which isn't too awful to have and it gave me a bonus day off because of being contagious but then Wednesday it all started to hurt; sore throat upon swallowing, tension headache, postnasal drip, body aches everywhere, achy face, teeth aching, warm and clammy....a sinus infection! It took me to Thursday after school to go in to walk in for a SECOND time this week but I'm glad I did because one day of antiobitics and half of those symptoms are gone. Needless to says it's been a long week for me, a long week for Curt as he's doing everything around the house, and a long week for Josie because Mama was always in bed and she didn't understand...she would pound outside the bedroom door :) I love her. Anyways...it's almost 8 pm and that's the latest I've been up all week! So hopefully by Monday I will feel totally better and the eyes won't be red anymore because they are not clearing up yet! Being june and a school employee I didn't consider taking off an extra day considering I wasn't contagious so I can't wait for a weekend of relaxation and cancelled plans to recoop!

I, however, am not putting up a pathetic looking picture of myself because it wouldn't be half as cute as Josies :)

Swimming in the Backyard!

While Josie was napping today, Curt ran to KMart to find a pool for Josie. He said they were really picked over and didn't have the hard plastic ones I was hoping for so Josie got a larger pool than baby sized but she loved it and the space to move around. Daddy suprised her with her own lawn chair too which was a fun game of up and down for her!

And yes she did have a swimsuit change...doesn't she look like Gilligan's pal from Gilligan's Island? She loved to splash and didn't mind being splashed on either.

Update...

Josie is doing so much better! Every day she has gotten more energy, less coughing and boogs draining out of her nose. We decided to skip going up north and stay home for the long weekend; which I think is the best think we could have done for her. We had an errand to do each day and took her outside for a bit each day but otherwise she was home, able to relax, and get in two great naps everyday. She's still on omoxicillian most of this coming week but it's done it's job well!

Bronchitis

Josie has bronchitis this week :(

She is a different baby than ever this week.

It's so, so sad. She's had a fever for 3 days straight.

So uncomfortable she would cry in her sleep or even when being held until last night so...fingers crossed.

Good news; we've had the meds for two days now and they tell me it takes 48 hours in the system so that's today; hopefully it will show today.

Is that not the saddes snotty, red eyes, achy, tired look :)

Family Garden

This year my sister and I decided to grow a garden together; when my dad heard us talking about finding a community plot he told us we could have his backyard garden as long as he got three tomato plants. So yesterday, the garden was assembled. I can't take too much credit because Josie was in an extremely clingy mood yesterday afternoon and I wasn't able to get her out of my hands or lap for more than a second so I guess you can say Josie and I "supervised". My nieces were there as well too help; Karley loved doing all of this and Makenzie she loved to shovel dirt!We will see how our garden grows but we have strawberries, corn, sunflowers, peas, beans, carrots, muskmelon, tomato, spaghetti squash, butternut squash, broccoli , red and white onions as well as red, yellow, and green peppers! Wish us luck for an abundant harvest!

Brewer's Game

Josie and I got Curt an early Father's Day gift; a 4 pack of tickets to the Brewer's games. This past Saturday was our first game. Josie did SO MUCH better than I expected...we made it to the seventh inning stretch...we probably could have made it longer but this way we beat the traffic. Josie of course made friends with all of our "neighbors", loved the music intros of each players and no exaggerating danced to at least half of them everytime, and loved the tortilla chips from the nachos!

Florida Here We Come!

We have a trip planned to Florida for this summer! We are going to Disney World for Josie (because a one year old will remember that! Lots of sarcasm!) and to Harry Potter World for me!!! Woohoo!! And the biggest WooHoo of all is Josie will get to see Curt's brother Paul for the second time and her Uncle Curt for the first time!
